Governments have failed us, 1m species are threatened with extinction, temperatures are rising, life support systems are breaking down, and we have only 8 years left to stop using oil entirely1.

We need all levels of society globally to start taking action to defend our living planet – to influence friends, family, celebrities, CEOs, politicians and policy-makers to help create change.

That’s where The Climate App comes in – the tool for the movement. Uniquely, The Climate App will make cutting carbon easy & fun, while providing a way for you to see what everyone around you are doing too! Action is easier when you’re not alone.

# Our Story

Started in 2019 by Samuel Naef (NASA Research scholar, founder of 8Billionminds) after climate livestream events, the team now consists of 25 passionate environmentalists mostly in the US & UK (and 31 external helpers) that have come together to help solve the largest crisis of our time.
We have developed the alpha app, beta app designs, partnerships, social media presence, and this campaign – all with zero funding.

# The Plan

Develop the Alpha app using volunteers – Done
Test the Alpha app and finalise the Beta app designs – In progress
Develop the Beta app using a professional development team.
Partner with organisations to help cover the core-costs of the project while expanding our online presence and educational outreach.
Launch initially in US and UK, then roll out to other high-emitters

# Our Goal

GOAL 1: £20k – Sam will work on this full time, and we will hire developers to complete the beta app within 4 months – COMPLETE!!!
GOAL 2: £25k – We can develop the beta app and fix bugs faster while improving the professional feel!
GOAL 3: £30k – We can develop the app in 3 months, improving compatibility across all devices, and scale product improvements from your direct feedback post app launch – including some animation!
